OUR VOICES OUR PLANET - Global Dialogue and Learning for Democracy and Sustainability. International Conference

Beschreibung

OUR VOICES – OUR PLANET is a project about the connection between democracy and sustainability. Educational actors from the Global South and North jointly develop and implement analogue and digital education materials and events. These shall support teachers/educators and learners of all ages to discover the topic and to motivate them to engage in democratic sustainability processes.

In this conference, partners and experts coming from democracy and sustainability movements from Africa, Asia, Latin America and Europe will exchange their ideas and perspectives on the relation between democracy and sustainability. Guiding questions of the conference will be:

What challenges do global issues such as climate change impose on local and worldwide participation processes? How must democracy be (re)defined and shaped in order to enable participation by all? How can civil society activities be protected and strengthened? And what kind of education do we need to qualify people for commitment to a globally just and ecologically sustainable world?

The programm will be published soon.

OUR VOICES OUR PLANET is a project from VNB and Learn2Change – Global Network of Educational Activists.

The conference takes place in cooperation with Stiftung Leben und Umwelt, JANUN e.V., Verband Entwicklungspolitik Niedersachsen e.V., Peer Leader International e.V. and Bremer Informationszentrum für Menschenrechte und Entwicklung biz e.V.
